Journey Dance for Events:
A
celebration of guided and improvisational movement with creative
visualization. Participants feel their power and vitality,
playfulness and joyfulness, and deepen their sense of spiritual
connection while creating a community of movement. Perfect
for conferences, meetings, and special events.
1.5 to 2 hours, for groups of 30 to 300.
Half-Day Workshops:
Journey through the Chakras
After an introduction to JourneyDance,
participants explore further and deeper, discovering more
connections between movement and energy. The group follows
a process to identify strengths and challenges, to gain insight
and wisdom, and to learn about the body's chakras, or energy
centers.
3 to 5 hours, for groups of 15 to 40.
Love your Body
A combination of JourneyDance, writing,
theater, and visual art to increase self-esteem and positive
body-image. Within a gentle and safe container, participants
explore ways to transform negative thought patterns and become
fully embodied and empowered. Ideal for girls and women ages
13 and up, as part of a school or after-school program.
3 to 5 hours, for groups of 10 to 30.
Two-Day Workshops:
The Dance of Manifestation
A weekend retreat for mind-body integration
combining movement, dance, and stillness. With time for
movement, writing, and sharing in both small and large
groups, participants follow a day-long process to identify
exactly what they are creating in the world. Exercises
in visualization and goal-setting, opening the body's energy
centers, or chakras, partner yoga, contact improvisation,
a two-hour JourneyDanceTM, music as impulse, choreographed
movements, and personal "blessings," culminate
in a Sacred Dance of Manifestation. Participants create
collages of visual art as their personal "manifestation
boards," receive written materials, experience rich
opportunities for deep learning and a closing ceremony
for final integration.
Friday evening through Sunday noon, for groups of 15 to 40.
Stories in Motion
A weekend retreat for acknowledging and
embodying the stories in our lives, both old and new. Combining
JourneyDanceM, playback theater, authentic movement, and
vocal improvisation, this workshop provides an opportunity
to dance, share stories, blend narratives with movements,
and develop performances. Moving through the stuck places
in our stories allows growth and transformation. From sharing
ourselves and our stories comes the courage to re-imagine
and plot new narratives for the future. Participants have
the option to record their work with photography or video,
have time for movement, writing, and sharing in both small
and large groups, and a closing ceremony for final integration.
Friday evening through Sunday noon, for groups of 15 to 40. |
