I first discovered Journey Dance at a live event for women called the Fun, Fabulous and Feminine over a year ago. I remember very vividly when fifty women were pounding their fists against the ground yelling and chanting. At this point i had no idea what Journey Dance was, but i knew i felt great! My next experience with Journey Dance was in a more private setting. During the Journey Dance flow i saw someone break down and have an amazing release of negativity and old stories while myself and fifteen other ladies circled around her and held space for this woman while we chanted and danced. This flow felt like an out of body experience and was very powerful for me. Even though this was only my second experience with Journey Dance I decided on that day to become a Journey Dance guide .
I have always been a dancer and it feels great to be able to teach. Journey Dance has helped my life so much! It is the avenue for accomplishing my desire to help others through health and wellness. I have struggled with anxiety in the past and to be able to heal myself through dance and help to heal my community feels great! One of my favorite parts about teaching is watching the people dance. Every dance is so beautiful and unique. I had one experience where a mother came with her two daughters. The mother has never taken a dance class before. It was a wonderful sight to see her interact with her children in this sacred space. I love teaching and the feedback that i have received truly touches my heart.
I grew up in South Florida and decided to move to Boston to pursue my dream of becoming an artist. I attended the Art Institute of Boston affiliated with Lesley University and received a BFA. After graduation i had my artwork in a gallery, cafes and restaurants. I sold some artwork, but i felt like something was missing. Last year I joined the mastery program for the Fun, Fabulous and Feminine. It is a group of around 20 women who made a choice to change their language, follow their dreams and get into the pleasure around life. This is where i met Toni and had my first Journey Dance experience. My life has not been the same ever since. I decided to become a Journey Dance guide, let go of toxic relationships, go to school to become a holistic health coach and to open an Art and Wellness center which is my biggest desire. I finally feel like i am on my way to helping others which has always been what i truly wanted to do with my life.
